Since 2002, Bournelyf Special Camp's pool has been a central part of our summer program - offering fun, connection, and skill - building for campers of all ages and abilities. Used up to four hours a day, five days a week, it supports daily recreation, swim instruction, our popular swim camp, and family events like tailgates.

However, the pool has reached the end of its lifespan and needs critical updates to remain safe and functional. Key issues include:

-
Outdated Infrastructure: The pool and pool house no longer meet current ADA standards and are only compliant due to grandfathering. Renovations will ensure full accessibility for all campers.
-
Environmental Concerns: Inefficient systems result in excessive water and electricity usage. Upgrading the plumbing and filtration will make the pool more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.

We are jumping in, head first, on a campaign to raise approximately $1.3 million to fund necessary renovations to our pool. Over half of this amount is already committed - but we need your help to raise the second half and get to our goal. This investment will cover ADA- compliant upgrades to the pool and pool house; modern, energy-efficient plumbing and filtration systems; and repairs/updates to address structural and functional issues.
