Emphasizing health and fitness, community service, service projects, and outdoor activity, Expedition Camp is focused on gaining useful skills for life for youth ages 18 to 25 years old while promoting goal setting and achievement, helping prepare campers for the transition from school to the working world. The result is campers gaining confidence and a sense of self-worth.
Through various activities, campers are involved with community outreach (visiting with residents at Pocopson Home), personal fitness (working out twice a week at Mitch’s Gym in borough of West Chester ), and taking part in various hands-on projects in order to gain new skills. From 2013-2015, Expedition campers enjoyed a very special three-year partnership with Master Gardeners from the area learning basic gardening skills from the experts through weekly lessons and hands-on activities. And most recently, in 2017, campers took part in the piloting of one week of hour long art classes where campers tapped into their creative sides and learned the foundational elements to various painting styles. Additionally Expedition campers are provided opportunities to practice daily life skills such as riding public transportation and raising personal safety awareness.
Expedition programs are offered during Session 1, 2 and Mini Camp. Tuition is $800/session or $400 for Mini Camp. See the registration page to apply.
